After having my G5 desktop stored away and moving a number of times I noticed my external Airport antenna had come up missing.

I searched the web and found only, high priced replacement options. So I ended up shoving a piece of tin foil over the plug and securing it with scotch tape as a make-shift antenna.

Needless to say this did not work so well, signal cutting out, tin foil falling off, low bars, etc. This was not going to cut it. So I decided to do a more in depth search, someone must have done something better than this. I finally found the answer posted on this forum.

But what I ended up using was a pin from a dress shirt from Costco (Kirkland brand). You get about 10 pins in each shirt and they fit perfectly! Plus they match the color of your G5.

I have been using this pin antenna for about a year with no kernal panics and my signal has never been less than full. Now you can surf the web, have your G5 help Batch render video with Compressor and do 3D renderings over wireless network.
